Hitting the Reset Button (and Being Okay with Where I Am)
Not reinventing myself, just pressing reset (like that Staples button)
Sometimes life hands us a big, flashy “fresh start” moment.
But most of the time? It’s quieter. More like realizing, “Oh… I’ve been spinning my wheels.”
That’s where I’ve been recently.
Not making much forward progress… feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, unsure of next steps, and trying to prioritize when there are JUST. SO. MANY. PRIORITIES.
So I kind of just wasn’t.
Friends, I was dabbling… yep, dabbling in my life.
I wasn’t sitting around doing nothing, but there was little passion, little drive, little flow - because it was hidden.
Hidden in frustration.
Hidden in fear of failure.
Hidden in self-doubt.
Hidden in the desire for a magic wand and lack of patience.
Thankfully, my inner knowing guide (we all have one 😉) began to nudge me:
for clarity… for commitment… for conversations with myself (and sometimes with others).
This isn’t about tearing everything down or reinventing myself. It’s just… pressing the reset button.
And the amazing, wonderful, really cool thing????
We can hit that reset button whenever (and however often) we want.
Do you remember the Staples commercials with the “That was easy” button?
In my mind, I’ve got one of those - but mine says Reset. And I can push it anytime.
For me, right now, this reset looks like:
✨ Letting go of the idea that I have to “do all the things”
✨ Re-evaluating what I really want
✨ Prioritizing what actually feels good instead of pushing through what doesn’t
It feels different than the old way I approached goals. Instead of striving and striving, I’m letting myself be okay with where I am… while gently steering toward what I want next in ways that actually feel good.
Here’s the truth: resetting isn’t failure. It’s part of growth. Every time we pause, re-center, and shift, we come back clearer. We choose with intention. We move with more alignment.
So this week, my invitation is simple:
👉 Where in your life do you need a reset button?
👉 What could you let go of that isn’t serving you, so you can make space for what does?
It doesn’t have to be dramatic. Just a breath, a reset, a gentle yes to yourself.
That’s my reset for now - and it feels good to say it out loud.
Next up, I’ll be sharing my journey on becoming my own best friend and how I’m approaching “weight release” (not loss, because I don’t want it back! 😉) in a way that feels balanced and doable. Stay tuned… and tell me, if you had a Staples-style reset button right now, what would you use it for?
